Pablo Auscarria | Educator | ArchiCAD

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind some of the marking and feedback you receive at Built Form Design Academy (BFDA), meet Pablo Auscarria  an architectural designer turned educator who’s passionate about shaping the next generation of draftsman and building designers.

Pablo brings with him over two decades of industry experience, having worked with  architecture firms across Sydney. From drafting and documentation to client collaboration and 3D rendering and now, he’s bringing that real-world expertise into the classroom

From the Drawing Board to the Classroom

Pablo’s journey in architecture began at St. George College, where he earned his Certificate IV and Diploma in Architectural Technology. He later completed a Bachelor of Architecture at UNSW, one of Australia’s most respected architecture programs.

Over the years, Pablo honed his craft from architectural drafting at Arkhaus (formerly Arkivis Design Studio) to production drafting at Sekisui House Australia. That wealth of experience means his students get insights grounded in the realities of working in a design firm.

Pablo is currently completing (nearly finished, Phew) a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at TAFE NSW, ensuring his teaching is as dynamic and impactful as his design work.

Why We Love Having Pablo on the Team

Joining BFDA in 2024, Pablo now leads ArchiCAD training, helping students build the skills that modern design studios demand. His technical expertise spans tools like REVIT and  Twinmotion, making him a go-to mentor for students who want to elevate their digital design game.

But it’s not just his skills that make Pablo a great educator it’s his approachability and passion for helping others succeed.

Pablo believes learning design should be fun, hands-on, and practical a philosophy that perfectly aligns with BFDA’s mission to make architectural education both accessible and inspiring.

He’s not just a design whiz, Pablo also brought his acting A-game to our latest marketing reel, starring as “Ghost”!  Check it out here.

Initially, Mark thought his IT background would make learning drafting software easy. Yet he quickly discovered that the work was highly technical and required patience and persistence. Even so, he embraced the challenge.

One highlight was completing a mock development application, which simulated submitting plans to council. Mark described this as a proud moment because it gave him a real sense of achievement. In fact, it made him excited about one day seeing his own drawings built in real life.
