Studies have found that the presence of pets in work spaces helps improve mental health and reduces absenteeism. Built Form Design Academy has its own furry friend who can often be found snoozing on drawing sets!

This week we thought we’d focus on architecture for pets. Check out an article on the Inhabitat website about Architect designed cat houses, raising money for FixNation, a non-profit organization that provides free spaying and neutering services for homeless cats. Click here.

Click here to watch a video on Vimeo about the design and construction of ‘Cat-a-Tete’, another submission for FixNation’s fund-raising campaign. The design collaboration between Formation Association, Arktura, and BuroHappol, uses material made out recycled plastic bottles for a shelter for cats that doubles as an outdoor seat for humans.
